About Pelican Bay
Located on Grand Bahamas Island, Pelican Bay Hotel just completed the construction of a five story building, The Canal House, offering a total of 30,680 square feet of highly flexible meeting and function space. Complete Audio & Electronics, Inc. was brought in to design, install and integrate a complete audio, video and control system.
Project Details
The site consisted of one main conference/ballroom style meeting room. Since this room was to be used for multiple purposes, all audio and video equipment must be hidden when not in use. With these requirements we designed and installed a system with a motorized projector lift and 150” motorized projection screen that can be completely concealed when not in use. The audio system for the room had 8 JBL flush mounted ceiling speakers, painted to match the ceiling with all amplification located in the equipment closet. The user interface and audio/video control can all be done from a flush mounted 7” RTI touch screen. All lighting and automated motorized shades were from Lutron controlled by Grafikeyes that were integrated into the touch screen system. To give the room flexibility, five floor boxes were installed, each box had an HDMI, VGA and audio ports for flexible use. We also installed DVD, and CD Changer was also installed A remote iPod dock that displays song information and playlist on the touch screen.
The conference center also consisted of four smaller meeting rooms. These rooms all have a 65” flat panel television with a centrally located floor box for 
HDMI, VGA and audio connectivity. The audio system included 4 flush ceiling mounted JBL speakers for audio distribution. We also supplied multi-region DVD players, which allowed different content to be played from around the world. The 4th floor rooms have flexibility to be combined into a single large room, allowing the audio and video content to be distributed in both rooms at the same time. We also provided and install Lutron lighting and motorized shade controls for all rooms.
